DEALING WITH AWKWARD OR DANGEROUS TREES?
This Level 3 course is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively deal with felling trees using a rope or winch.
WHAT IS COVERED?
As well as relevant legislation, risk assessments and emergency planning, the course looks at planning assisted felling operations.
The candidate will fell trees using both rope-based, and winch-based systems and make use of felling aids appropriate to the tree being felled, taking into account the size, shape and form, and site considerations.
If you don’t hold the relevant pre-requisites, but do hold the CS31 or Level 2 Award in Felling and Processing Trees Up To 380mm, then the Level 3 Award in Emergency Treework Operations may be your best solution.
To undertake this Level 3 Award course, you must have successfully passed your NPTC assessments in:
- CS30 or the Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting.
- CS31 or the Level 2 Award in Felling and Processing Trees Up To 380mm.
- CS32 or the Level 3 Award in Felling and Processing Trees Over 380mm.
This course could be considered to be at the highest level of practical chainsaw operations, however you may also want to consider Emergency Treeworks, or Dealing with Windblown Trees.
