USING A CHAINSAW?
This Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting course is designed to provide you with the skills and underpinning knowledge to safely and effectively maintain and use a chainsaw.
WHAT IS COVERED?
In addition to health and safety aspects, routine maintenance, ranging from chain sharpening to air filter, spark plug, recoil starter and guide bar maintenance, is covered.
The course looks at the different types of drive sprockets, how to replace them and the clutch systems in use.
Safe use of the chainsaw is an important element, taking in tension and compression cuts as well as vertical and horizontal bore cuts.
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
This foundation course is a pre-requisite for the Level 2 Award in Felling and Processing Trees Up To 380mm.
This course typically consists of 2 days of training, followed by 1 day of assessment.
