DEALING WITH EMERGENCY TREEWORKS?
This Level 3 Award in Emergency Treework Operations covers basic operations to deal with windblown trees and assisted felling using winches / ropes.
WHAT IS COVERED?
This course covers the underpinning knowledge required to deal with emergency treeworks, including legislative requirements, risk assessments and emergency planning. The course looks at planning emergency operations and then deals with the practical skills needed.
The course covers securing root plates of windblown trees, dealing with the tree canopy, and assisted felling techniques using fail safe methods with a rope or winch.
This course contains elements from the Level 3 Award in Assisted Fell Operations, and the Level 3 Award in Severing Uprooted Or Windblown Trees – but with the benefit that you won’t need the CS32 / Level 3 Award in Felling & Processing Trees Over 380mm as a pre-requisite.
To undertake this Level 3 Award course, you must have successfully passed your NPTC assessments in:
- CS30 or the Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting.
- CS31 or the Level 2 Award in Felling and Processing Trees Up To 380mm.
To further progress within treeworks, you will need to undertake the Level 3 Award in Felling and Processing Trees Over 380mm, and then on to dealing with windblown trees or assisted felling operations.
This course typically consists of 3 days of training, followed by 1 day of assessment.
